I will start by introducing myself and the members of my family, whose funny and embarrassing but often also educational moments I will share with you.

This is me
My name is Julie. I am 28 years old, which sounds like more than it really is, but not so much that I have to take most things seriously yet. Things I do take seriously are time and whales. I am sure I will get back to those on a later occasion.
I was born and raised in Aarhus, which is quite a big city by Danish standards, which, of course, doesn’t say much.
A few years ago, I travelled quite a lot as a guide and backpacker, and have lived for shorter periods in Spain, Turkey and Japan. That eventually ended, when I decided I wanted to be a doctor. So I came home, spend a few years getting the grades I needed to get into medical school, and spend two years in medical school before realizing that I was bored out of my mind. So now I am about two years into becoming an architect, which is great. On the side, I design and make jewelry.

Per and Mio
My fiancée is Per, who is a wonderful 25 year old zookeeper. We have been together for about five years, and been engaged for about four years and eleven months. Per is great with the handy work. He doesn’t always know what to do or how to do it, but he is very strong, determined and imaginative, so something is always being done. The first month on the farm, he dug me a huge vegetable garden by hand with a shovel, because we didn’t have any machines. He is also the one who handles the chainsaw and trains the dogs.
The dogs: Maggie is maybe some kind of German shepherd, sled dog mix. We have had her since she was 12 weeks. She was not a sweet puppy. Now she is very affectionate and smart, but we are pretty sure that she has ADHD. Maddox is probably a mixture of Labrador and sheepdog maybe. We adopted him about a year ago. He is the most gentle and sweet dog and he loves Maggie very much. He is not the fastest dog on the farm, though.

Maddox and Maggie
The cat: Mio is only two years old, but he is a grumpy old bugger. He has stopped catching mice, now he waits for Maggie to catch them for him, and he has recently decided that he does not like cat food anymore. Now he wants dog food. He also has stopped meowing and replaced it with some sort of hoarse gargling sound.
And of course you should be introduced to the farm itself. It is build out of red bricks in 1907 and consists of the main house, three stables or barns and a hen house. And this funny little white house that I prefer be called a pavilion where I can paint and be creative, but so far has been referred to as the shed where we store wood for the fireplace. We have a nice big garden and behind the stables, a meadow.
